  • Swallowing Therapy

    Difficulty with swallowing (dysphagia) can result from a number of physical and neurological causes. Symptoms of dysphagia may include weight loss, coughing while eating, pneumonia, excess tension, or a sensation of food or liquid remaining in the mouth or throat. Treatment can involve exercise-based therapy, diet modification, and compensatory strategies.

  • Speech & Language Therapy

    Speech refers to how sounds and words are produced while language refers to the ability to express, understand, read, and write. Trouble with word-finding, unclear speech, and difficulty understanding others can be symptoms of speech and language disorders. This can result from strokes. brain injury, or other types of neurological conditions. Treatment involves developing individualized plans to increase your confidence in daily communication activities.

  • Dysphagia Diagnostics

    Flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) is a gold standard instrumental assessment of swallowing function. FEES involves using a thin flexible tube attached to a light source to allow visualization of the structures of the nose, pharynx (throat), and larynx (voice box). This assessment is used to identify the anatomy or physiology contributing to swallowing issues to develop an individualized treatment plan. FEES can also be used as an adjunct to therapy.

  • Cognitive Therapy

    Cognition refers to different aspects of thinking skills including memory, attention, language, executive function, visual perception and motor function, and social cognition. Signs of impaired cognition may include forgetting appointments, difficulty with financial management, and repeated falls. Treatment includes individualized plans and compensatory strategies to increase independence and overall quality of life.

  • Voice Therapy

    Voice disorders refer to abnormalities in voice loudness, quality, pitch, resonance, or respiratory support with consideration for age and gender. Voice changes can result from vocal fatigue, excess tension, laryngeal injury, or changes in the structure of the larynx (voice box). In addition to traditional voice therapy, specialized programs are available for voice changes resulting from aging and those associated with Parkinson’s disease

  • Public Speaking & English Pronunciation Training

    Public speaking and presentation skills have an increasingly important role in academics, workplace advancement, networking, and social interactions. However, fear of public speaking is also the most common phobia. Speech rate, intensity (volume), body language and eye contact, fluency, and conciseness can impact speaking confidence and the way a message is received. English pronunciation training, also commonly referred to as accent modification, is a service provided to increase precision and accuracy in English communication.
