Meet the Endoscopist

Ainsley S. Martin, MS, CCC-SLP
Certified Endoscopist

Since graduating from Syracuse University in 2015, Ainsley has worked with a wide variety of patients in various medical settings. Prior to starting State of Mind Speech & Swallowing in 2020, Ainsley found her home serving as the lead speech-language pathologist in skilled nursing facilities. While working in skilled nursing, Ainsley experienced first-hand the struggles of waiting weeks and even months for modified barium swallow studies to be scheduled at the hospitals. Even when studies were scheduled, there was no guarantee of their thoroughness or quality.

Ainsley founded State of Mind Speech & Swallowing in 2020 to provide access to efficient, accessible, and evidence-based dysphagia diagnostics to Central New York and the surrounding areas. In addition to mobile FEES services, Ainsley also offers continuing education opportunities and continued dysphagia mentorship for the speech pathologists she serves.

“Before starting my private practice, I spent the majority of my career working in skilled nursing facilities. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to provide needed services for patients because they haven’t had an instrumental or to receive a report only for a patient to be placed on an overly restrictive diet with seemingly no explanation. I’ve also witnessed the negative effects on patient’s quality of life when they’ve had to wait months for an updated instrumental exam.

Mobile FEES offers an opportunity to began truly skilled services sooner, improve patients’ quality of life, and enhance the overall care these patients receive. I look forward to partnering with you to provide the best care for your patients.”
