State of Mind Speech & Swallowing was created to fill a need in the greater Central NY and outlying areas for accessible and quality speech and swallowing therapy. We are the only mobile medical-speech pathology practice in Central New York specializing in adult swallowing and communication rehabilitation.

Why Should You Choose Us?

We are specialists.

Many speech therapy practices are generalist practices, meaning they treat all age ranges and disorders. As we know the field of speech pathology is too broad to know everything, we have chosen to specialize in swallowing and communication disorders affecting the adult and geriatric population. We have also invested hundreds of hours into continuing education to ensure we are providing the most skilled services to our clients.

We are willing to meet you where you are.

We are willing to meet you wherever you are on your journey. Whether you are experiencing a new change such as a stroke or are dealing with a progressive condition such as Parkinson’s or dementia, we will walk with you every step of the way. We are also literally willing to meet you where you are. Services provided in the home are more functional and personalized leading to better therapy outcomes and a more positive response to intervention.

We lead with education.

At State of Mind Speech & Swallowing, we firmly believe therapy should be a collaborative process. We work with our clients as a team! We bring expertise in swallowing and communication and you bring the knowledge and experience that comes with being yourself. We pride ourselves in providing detailed explanations along each step of the therapy process.

My name is Ainsley and I’m the owner/lead speech-language pathologist at State of Mind Speech & Swallowing. I started State of Mind Speech & Swallowing in 2020 to be able to truly partner with my patients to provide the most functional and person-centered services to reach the goals that were meaningful to them.
