Public Speaking & English Pronunciation Training

Public speaking typically refers to talking in front of a large audience. Recently, the definition has expanded to include any form of speaking to an audience such as pre-recorded speeches and virtual. Public speaking and presentation skills have an increasingly important role in academics, workplace advancement, networking, and social interactions. However, fear of public speaking is also the most common phobia. Speech rate, intensity (volume), body language and eye contact, fluency, and conciseness can impact speaking confidence and the way a message is received.

English pronunciation training is a service provided to increase precision and accuracy in Standard American English. This involves identifying common error patterns, targeting stress and intonation, and addressing grammar and word usage to increase confidence and clarity in spoken and written American English.

*These are both elective services and do not indicate a communication disorder.
